Gandhian Studies Cell

The Gandhian Studies Cell serves as both an academic and extracurricular hub, dedicated to exploring the life, philosophy, and enduring impact of Mahatma Gandhi. It provides students with
opportunities to engage deeply with his teachings and understand their relevance in addressing contemporary issues.

Objectives:

  • To create awareness about Gandhian philosophy and its application in modern times.
  • To encourage students to adopt values of non-violence, peace, and ethical leadership.
  • To promote community service, rural development, and environmental sustainability in line with Gandhian ideals.

Activities:

During the academic year 2023-24, the Cell organized several meaningful activities that reflected Gandhian principles:
  • An Independence Day Quiz Competition held on August 14, 2023, to promote awareness of India’s freedom struggle and Gandhi’s contributions.
  • A Campus Cleaning Program on October 3, 2023, reinforcing the values of cleanliness and community service.
  • A visit to Chakkulathamma Sanjeevani Ashram, Kilimanoor, on October 19, 2023, where students interacted with and extended their support to the elderly residents.
Through these initiatives, the Gandhian Studies Cell continues to inspire students to embody the principles of truth, non-violence, and service to society.
