Sree Sankara College (SSC), affiliated to the University of Kerala, is a recently established arts and science in aided sector at Nagaroor, Kilimanoor. This is yet another great achievement of Sree Sankara trust which holds aloft the principles of Jagadguru Adi Sankara and which have carved an enviable place in the field of higher education.
The inception of SSC is the fulfillment of the long cherished dream of the youth of rural environs of Nagaroor, to gain access to higher education. The college started functioning on 17 July 2018 in the right hand side of ancient Thiruviraloorkavu Devi Temple. Sree Sankara College is built in the midst of 36 acres of lush greenery on a hill rock.
Sree Sankara Trust was formed in 1965 at Peringara, in Kerala State by a few well wishers of Namboothiri community with Sri P.N. Namboothiri as founder Chairman. It is registered under the Literary Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act, 1955. The objectives of the Trust centre round the lofty ideals and deep thoughts of Jagadguru Sree Sankara, the great saint of India and the exponent of the Advaitha Philosophy. It seeks to re-align educational and social welfare activities and bring the students and the youths of the country into a value based and progressive attitude that may help to ennoble and enrich human life.
